This isn't an accident—it’s the direct result of policies enabled by Representative Lawler.
By backing legislation to threaten Medicaid and the Republican Tax Law in 2025, Lawler has prioritized rigid ideology over local reality in the Hudson Valley.
The impact is hitting home right now:
Pain at the Pump: In just one week, gas prices jumped 20 cents, hitting an average of $3.87 in Rockland and Westchester counties.
The "Tariff Tax": New York families are already paying an estimated $1,744 extra for everyday goods due to trade policies that force consumers to shoulder 95% of tariff costs.
Job Insecurity: These rising costs are colliding with a weakening state labor market, leaving families with less to spend and fewer opportunities to get ahead.
“Rep. Lawler promised lower costs, affordability, and no cuts to essential services. Instead, his votes for MAGA-backed policies—from the Republican Tax Law to the balanced budget amendment and tariffs—have done the opposite,” said Joan, a NY-17 constituent and longtime Hudson Valley resident.
