Hudson Valley Families Rally Against Lawler’s War Vote as Gas Prices Surge
WESTCHESTER, NEW YORK — Empire State Voices, Citizen Action, and Battleground NY Action will rally outside Rep. Lawler’s town hall on May 17 as Hudson Valley residents speak out against rising gas prices. Constituents will gather to highlight the growing economic strain facing working families across the district.
WHAT: Rally To Lower Prices & Hold Rep. Lawler Accountable
WHEN: Sunday, May 17, 2026, 5:00 PM
WHERE: Van Wyck Junior High School, 6 Hillside Lake Rd, Wappingers Falls, NY
WHO: Empire State Voices, Citizen Action, Battleground NY Action, Hudson Valley residents, and impacted NY-17 constituents.
Speakers and attendees will hold Rep. Mike Lawler accountable for backing policies that drive up costs for working families while supporting billions more for war abroad. The action comes as Hudson Valley residents face gas prices that are up $1.50 per gallon since last year, even as Lawler said higher energy costs tied to the Iran War were “absolutely worth it.”
