A Few More ‘Stupid Fucking Questions’ for Congressman Mike Lawler

Rep. Lawler is Lashing Out After a Less-Than-Friendly Town Hall

NEW YORK — Today, Congressman Mike Lawler lashed out at reporters when asked to clarify his stance on potential Medicaid cuts, seemingly indignant that people “keep asking the same stupid fucking question.” Rep. Lawler’s outburst comes on the heels of a less-than-friendly event in West Nyack this past Sunday, where the New York representative faced constituents for his first in-person town hall meeting all year.

While Rep. Lawler maintains his position on Medicaid has been consistent, his voting record contradicts his public statements. Earlier this month, Lawler voted to advance the Republican budget plan, which called on the Energy and Commerce Committee—which oversees Medicaid—to make $880 billion in cuts. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office has found that this goal is impossible to achieve without serious cuts to the program.

Since Congressman Lawler is frustrated at having to answer the same question over and over again, here are a few more “stupid fucking questions” he is welcome to answer instead:

  1. How do you plan to cut $880 billion WITHOUT undermining Medicaid? The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office says this is impossible.

  2. Why are you supporting spending trillions of dollars on tax breaks for billionaires?

  3. Why did you vote to allow President Trump to raise prices on New York consumers through his chaotic tariff policy?
